About IKS Research Initiative
The IKS Research Initiative is dedicated to exploring and integrating the rich heritage of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into contemporary academic and cultural discourses. Rooted in the vision of civilizational resurgence, it aims to promote interdisciplinary research, documentation, and application of India’s traditional wisdom across fields like Yoga, Ayurveda, education, philosophy, and the arts. By engaging scholars, practitioners, and institutions, the initiative seeks to revive and contextualize the timeless insights of Bharatiya thought for national and global relevance.

About the National Seminar
The 21st century has witnessed an increased global interest in Yoga, not merely as a set of physical exercises but as a holistic science of life, rooted in a comprehensive psychological and philosophical worldview. While modern psychology has made great strides in understanding the human mind, its methodologies and assumptions remain largely rooted in Western paradigms. In contrast, Indian psychology, inspired by Yoga, Vedanta, Buddhism, and other Indic systems, offers a consciousness-centric approach, prioritising inner transformation, experiential realisation, and spiritual well-being. Recognising the need to explore, revive, and integrate this rich knowledge tradition into academic and practical domains, the National Seminar on “Indian Psychology and Yoga” is being organised to commemorate International Yoga Day 2025. This seminar aims to deepen the understanding of Indian perspectives on mind, consciousness, and well-being, while facilitating interdisciplinary dialogue on how Yoga and Indian psychology can enrich domains such as education, therapy, health, performing arts, and sports.
